FOLLOW THE WOMEN is an international non-governmental initiative comprised of approximately 300 ordinary women, from as many as 30 different countries, who support peace, human rights and an end to violence in the Middle East. The project is aimed at unifying women from all over the world to work together for a more peaceful present and future.
The aims of FOLLOW THE WOMEN are to:

raise awareness of how the current situation in the Middle East affects the lives of women and children in the region,

show solidarity towards women in the region,
-
increase support networks between women all around the world,
-
fund a counseling center in Ramallah, Palestine for the victims living in that area of conflict,
-
bring an end to violence and suffering in the region.
In order to work towards achieving these aims, FOLLOW THE WOMEN has organised cycle rides for women in Middle East region since 2004. By today women from approx 30 countries have joined to contribute to the aims of the initiative. 2008 was also the first year for the team of women from Estonia to join in!
This blog is aimed at sharing the experiences of Estonian team in Follow The Women 2008 from their preparations, through the ride 2.-16.05.2008 and to follow-up activities. Because we believe that this can be very educational, fun and valuable experience to not only those who participate in the ride directly but far more widely…by reading the stories, thinking or talking about these, having your say in the comments of the blog etc. Still, we are sorry but not able to keep the whole blog both in estonian and english languages.
